Kate Burke (MIACP) is an accredited psychotherapist and holds a BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Middlesex University, along with a Certificate in Psychology from NUI Maynooth.
Kate is a multilingual therapist speaking English, Irish & German and continues her development as a therapist with regular CPD such as her completion of the HSE ASIST Suicide Intervention Programme.
Kate’s career extends over three decades, working in the Multinational sector, in both Ireland and Germany where she was primarily involved in Corporate Account Management, progressing to People Management and Development.
Central to the most rewarding element of these responsibilities, was building supportive relationships. Counselling and Psychotherapy was thus a natural progression for Kate due to her passion for people and supporting them through a person focused relationship.
Kate uses an Integrative Model, drawing on Psychodynamic, Person Centered & Cognitive Behavioral approaches tailoring it to what will benefit the client’s specific needs. Kate puts the client at the center of the work, facilitating them in finding ways to make a difference to their own lives and the inherent tension between the demands of life and finding space for the self.
Kate is passionate about creating a safe space for the voice of the individual to be heard without fear of judgement. She has a particular interest in helping people find their own answers to the challenges in their lives, such as anxiety, depression, burnout, or a general dissatisfaction with life without any obvious reason.
